Asia Pacific Telecentre Network (APTN) will hold a planning Meeting with their resource persons to discuss the network's agenda for the year of 2012. The Meeting will take place on November 30 and December 3 at the 5th eAsia Conference in Bangladesh. The meeting is supported by the Telecentre.org Foundation and ICT Agency of Sri Lankan. The meeting aims to discuss and come to a conclusion on how telecentre networks/stakeholders in the Asia Pacific Region can benefit from APTN and contribute to understanding on how resources can be mobilized overcoming the current operating challenges.  It is expected that meeting will brainstorm with APTN telecentre leaders of countries in the Asia Pacific region and to assist in preparation of an action plan for the enhancement of the telecentre networks in the region and to strengthen APTN.  

 

Training Program for Preventive Education on ICT Misuse held in Thailand 

Thaitelecentre Academy have the opportunity to attend APEC Training Program for preventive Rducation on ICT Misuse held by a partnership between Thailand - Korea Institute for Academic TOT Ngam Wong Wan Bangkok to train Train to Training 10 people from the Trainer 10 is a course Train to Training. The ICT Center to educate the community to be Trainner 40 people in the ICT community learning center under the supervision of expert trainers from the Republic of Korea. 7th Knowledge Exchange Conference: Self-reliant CeCs for Self-reliant communities

The 7th Knowledge Exchange Conference on Community eCenters (KEC 7)  marked the successful conclusion of a vision that shaped the CeC landscape of the country and the start of a new journey towards self-reliance.Approximately 350 delegates, the biggest KEC number yet, joined the annual knowledge exchange tradition, held from November 22-23 in Baguio City. This year's theme, Self-reliant CeCs for Self-reliant Communities, was a momentous departure from previous KEC themes of sustainability and celebration. Read MORE 


ICTA projects contribute immensely towards Sri Lanka becoming Wonder of Asia

The Information and Communication Technology Agency of Sri Lanka   (ICTA) successfully carried out yet another of its endeavours of taking the benefits of ICT to the villages recently.  Carried out under the patronage of Telecommunication and IT Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya at Anuradhapura, the exercise was the result of the combined efforts of two interdependent programmes of ICTA. Asia-Pacific Telecentre Network (APTN) is a collaborative initiative of the United Nations' Economic and Social Commission for the Asia-Pacific (UN-ESCAP) and Telecentre.org and APTN Secretariat presently being hosted at ICT Agency (ICTA) Sri Lanka. The network will promote innovation and knowledge-sharing among telecentre organizations in the Asia-Pacific region  and it will serve as the focal network or the knowledge hub for communication and information technology in the Asia Pacific region.
